How Do We Find Perfect Peace in the Chaos?

How Do We Find Perfect Peace in the Chaos?

3You will keep the mind that is dependent on you
in perfect peace,
for it is trusting in you.
4Trust in the Lord forever,
because in the Lord, the Lord himself, is an everlasting rock!

Isaiah 26:3-4

To what rock do we tie our rope of Hope?

When our eyes are fixed on the certainty of a better future Jesus provides, all chaos could break loose around us. Despite all the chaos, God will keep your mind in perfect Peace.

Because Peace is calm in the chaos.

How does this Peace happen?

Pride in God Alone

7Some take pride in chariots, and others in horses,
but we take pride in the name of the Lord our God.

Psalm 20:7

We’re told to trust…

Our instincts
Our training
Our education
Our success
Our possessions
Our press
Our strategies
Our vision

Every single one of these are the created order. They are horrible foundations. Each one will crumble when chaos comes.

When we fix our vision on Jesus alone, these become God’s gift to us for life. They find their rightful place as additives to our life…not the foundation we rely on.

Throw Off Sin & Hinderances

1Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, 2keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.

Hebrews 12:1-2

When our vision is Jesus, everything else that slows us down to this vision becomes like a parachute to a runner.

A runner with a parachute on their back in not in perfect Peace. Neither is one who Hears & Follows Jesus, but has their vision on sin and hinderances.

Having chaos doesn’t mean you have sin & hinderances. Having sin & hinderances will mean your Pillar of Peace will shake more during times of chaos.

Separate chaos and Peace. You can be in the middle of chaos, but have perfect Peace. This does not mean you don’t grieve your loss or feel the pain of the chaos.

This does mean you grieve as someone who does have Hope. You have certainty God’s future is better. You also know your past and present hurts.

Chaos in your life does not mean you’ve lost your focus on Jesus. When chaos comes, use it as a reminder to fix your eyes on Jesus unlike you ever have before.

God brings calm inside the chaos. He is always moving inside you. He is doing something inside you to strengthen you. He is making your life a Light to those who watch you.

Lock your vision on Jesus to find the perfect Peace God has for you.
