Read Ezekiel 37:1-14

Notice a progression…

What happened when Ezekiel was told to prophecy (speak, preach) the Word of the Lord to the dry bones?

What happened when Ezekiel was told to prophesy the breath (Spirit) to come upon the dry bones?

Why do you think this progression exists?

The Bible has power. The principles you find will pull a life in shambles together. After all, the One who Created you, breathed his Word into existence too. And yet, the Bible is not the Spirit of God. God’s goal for your life is to bring your soul to Life, not learn Bible trivia.

Going back to our progression…

PRAY

Pray God will bring the One Thing alive in your Heart, Mind, Soul & Strength. Ask God to not leave your life the same because of the Life he breathes into your soul. Seek him through his Word.

Now, I will say here, not every time with God will be the same as another. Some days fireworks will go off in your soul. The very next day, you Read, you Find, you Pray. And internally nothing happens.

This does not mean God is not at work in the meh days. Discipline is for the accumulative effect. The more you reap, the more you sow. No one time with God will make you some sort of super-Christian (not really such a thing anyway). Spend time with God through his Word and Prayer so that you can reap the dividends later.

Every single time with God will bring you closer in a Hear & Follow relationship with the Creator of the Universe. The One who created your soul to run on the fuel of his Spirit residing inside you. The payoff is that over time, what does not look like your Heavenly Father will be cut away and he will grow you in resting in his work, not striving in your own power.

How have you seen God pull your life together through his Word?

And how have you seen God breathe the breath of Life into your soul because his Word pointed you to him?
