To What Extent Do You Love?

29But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30Jesus took up the question and said, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him, beat him up, and fled, leaving him half dead. 31A priest happened to be going down that road. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32In the same way, a Levite, when he arrived at the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33But a Samaritan on his journey came up to him, and when he saw the man, he had compassion. 34He went over to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on olive oil and wine. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35The next day he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said, ‘Take care of him. When I come back I’ll reimburse you for whatever extra you spend.’
36 “Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?”
37“The one who showed mercy to him,” he said.
Then Jesus told him, “Go and do the same.”

Luke 10:29-37

Love to the extent you want to be loved.

If you’re lying bloodied and left for dead by the side of the road, how would you want to be loved? Would you want religious leaders to worry about their ceremonies or their cleanliness? Would you worry about the person showing you love being someone who culturally wasn’t supposed to?

The companies and the people who show Love more than anyone else are the companies and the people who earn a reputation for showing Love.

No brainer…but based on your last customer service experience…is it really a no brainer?

Ritz-Carlton are famous for empowering their employees to show Love. Up to $2,000 per employee per incident they can make something right. I’ve heard of laptops personally being flown to Hawaii. Just to make 100% certain the vital laptop got in the hands of the owner.

If you left your laptop in a hotel room, how would you want to be loved?

To have Influence, you must have Presence.
To have Presence, you must have Love.

When someone makes something right they shouldn’t make right, we become a customer for life. We make sure everyone looking for the same good or service knows about the company who took great care of you. The money spent more than takes care of itself.

It’s easy to hide behind rules and regulations and bureaucracy and red-tape. We want to make sure people don’t take advantage of us. Yet we forget the first principle of showing up.

We must show up with Love.

Show up with the same Love we want someone else to show up with for you.
