The Well Off

“Blessed” means “The Well Off.”

To you, who are The Well Off?

Jesus spoke to a crowd of people who followed him into no mans’ land. He healed people from disease, pain, demon possession and epilepsy. The people following Jesus were the down & out to the government, religious leaders and themselves.

Jesus flipped the script.

Jesus changed their vision of themselves. He started to move them from the down & out to The Well Off. They didn’t have to be stuck where they were. God’s Kingdom views The Well Off differently than the leaders of their day.

It doesn’t matter what anyone else says, The Well Off plays by a different metric.

Internal v. External Metrics

The Well Off do not play life according to an external metric. They play life according to an internal reality. The internal reality God gives does not depend upon any external metric. And the internal reality God gives builds us on the foundation of Jesus’ image.

We can be The Well Off and appear to have nothing.
We can be The Well Off and appear to have everything.

Because The Well Off are well off because of their internal reality. God builds their life from the inside out, not the outside in.

Jesus led by telling the down & out anyone can be The Well Off in God’s Kingdom. You do not have to have any religious background. Outward success can evade you. The religious can shun you.

In your organization, who is seen as The Well Off? Can only a few achieve it? Or do you make it possible for anyone who builds their life on Jesus’ internal reality to become well off?
